Few things are more stressful than wondering if your child needs to see a doctor. Is this fever serious? Is this rash normal? Should I just keep them home from school?

At Omega Medical Clinic, our family physicians provide comprehensive pediatric care for newborns through teenagers — both as walk-in visits when you need answers fast, and as ongoing care for families who want a long-term doctor for their kids.

The Alberta Immunization Schedule

Alberta provides free routine immunizations for all children. Here's the schedule every Calgary parent should know:

Well-Child Visits — What to Expect

Even healthy kids need check-ups. The recommended schedule:

  • 2 weeks after birth
  • 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 months
  • 2, 3, 4, and 5 years
  • Annually from age 6 onwards

At each visit, we check:

  • Growth (height, weight, head circumference for infants)
  • Development — milestones, language, motor skills
  • Vision and hearing screening
  • Heart and lungs
  • Behavior, sleep, feeding, and family adjustment
  • Vaccinations and any catch-ups needed
